Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027

This law keeps the federal government funded through December 11, 2026, by providing temporary funding for federal agencies, mostly at the same levels as the previous year, while Congress works on full spending bills for the 2027 fiscal year. It includes some funding adjustments for specific programs like WIC nutrition assistance, Small Business Administration loans, disaster relief, and wildfire suppression. Beyond government funding, the law extends many programs and authorities that were set to expire, covering a wide range of areas including grain inspection standards, cybersecurity information sharing, surface transportation and highway programs, trade preferences that allow duty-free imports from certain African and Caribbean countries, and the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. It also extends numerous Department of Veterans Affairs programs, including services for homeless veterans, mental health care and suicide prevention for veterans, housing assistance for disabled veterans, health care in rural areas, and veterans' education benefits.
