Spectrum Pipeline Act of 2025

This bill gives the Federal Communications Commission the power to hold auctions for radio frequency licenses, which expired in 2023. It also requires the government to identify radio frequencies currently used by federal agencies that could be given to private companies instead. At least half of these frequencies must go to commercial wireless companies through auctions, while another portion must be set aside for unlicensed use like Wi-Fi and connected devices. The bill changes how federal agencies get paid when they have to move to new frequencies, allowing them to use the money for upgraded equipment.
