Campus Free Speech Restoration Act

This bill would restrict how public colleges can limit student speech activities like protests, handing out flyers, or carrying signs on campus. Public colleges that get federal student aid money generally could not restrict these activities, and they could lose federal funding if they have policies that limit student speech or if they put too many rules on when, where, or how students can express themselves. The bill also says colleges cannot punish people for reporting speech restrictions. Private colleges that get federal money would have to tell students about their speech policies, and the bill creates a process for investigating complaints and helping colleges get their federal funding back.
