FLEX Act

This bill changes a federal program that gives money to help charter schools get started and grow. It lets charter schools use that funding for more things than before, like hiring teachers and staff beyond just the planning phase, making building repairs, providing student transportation, and adding new academic programs that allow more students to enroll. The bill also says the Department of Education must use some of the program's money to increase seats in charter schools serving rural students and students with disabilities, and must talk with charter school operators before proposing new rules that affect charter schools.
