Equitable Access to School Facilities Act

This bill changes how the federal government helps charter schools find and pay for their buildings. It replaces an existing grant program with a new one where the Department of Education gives money to states to help charter schools get and maintain their facilities, with priority going to states that offer things like tax-exempt financing for charter schools. The bill also updates another grant program so that money can be used to help charter schools find a building and make sure it meets building codes, and it lets states set aside up to 10% of their grant money for a loan fund. It also makes clear that federal money used for these programs does not give the federal government any ownership interest in the buildings.
