ACE Agriculture Act

This bill extends a Department of Agriculture program called the Agriculture Advanced Research and Development Authority (AGARDA) through 2032. The program supports research and development of new technology and products to tackle big, long-term challenges in food and agriculture. The bill adds new goals for the program, including water conservation, responding to greenhouse gas emissions, and building resilience to drought, diseases, and pests that affect plants and animals. It also makes the program permanent instead of a pilot, requires the Department of Agriculture to maintain a dedicated staff for it, and allows the department to use available leftover funds to run the program.
