SECURE Grid Act

This bill extends a program through 2031 that requires states to submit energy security plans to the Department of Energy in order to receive federal money for energy conservation programs. It says the Department of Energy does not have to approve the plans but must help states develop them if asked. The bill also requires states to include more details in their plans, such as how they would handle weather-related threats, supply chain risks for electricity equipment, and the security of local power systems. Finally, it asks a government watchdog agency to report to Congress on how well these state energy security plans are working.
