OMAR Act

This bill stops candidates for federal office and current officeholders from using campaign money to pay their spouse for work done for their campaign or political committee. It also requires political committees to report any payments made to the spouse or immediate family members of the candidate or officeholder. If someone breaks these rules, the candidate or officeholder who knew about it is personally responsible for paying the penalty, and their political committee is not allowed to pay them back for it.
