Salad Bars in Schools Expansion Act

This bill requires the Department of Agriculture to create a plan and give out competitive grants over five years to help schools get salad bars for their lunch programs. Schools that serve many low-income students, schools in areas with limited access to grocery stores, or schools that teach nutrition may get priority for the grants. The grant money would give schools a one-time payment to cover the cost of installing a salad bar and buying the equipment needed. The Department of Agriculture must also write a report for Congress with ideas for getting more salad bars in schools.
