RELIEVE Act

This bill makes it easier for some veterans to get reimbursed by the Department of Veterans Affairs when they receive emergency care at non-VA hospitals. Currently, veterans must have received VA care within the past 24 months to qualify for reimbursement of emergency treatment at other facilities. The bill removes this 24-month requirement for veterans who get emergency treatment within 60 days of enrolling in the VA health care system.
