HOUSE Act of 2025

This bill requires the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Agriculture to withdraw energy efficiency standards for new homes that were adopted in April 2024. These standards applied to homes financed through certain government programs and included updated building codes for energy conservation. The bill also prevents these agencies and others from using federal money to enforce these standards or similar ones. Additionally, it stops the agencies from adopting future updates to energy efficiency codes unless at least 26 states have already adopted those same standards.
