Parks to People Active Transportation Act

This bill would require the Department of Transportation to create a program that gives money to states, local governments, and Indian tribes to build greenway paths for walking, biking, and other alternatives to driving. These paths would be part of a national network and would need to meet certain requirements, like crossing multiple areas, reducing traffic, improving safety, helping the environment, or supporting communities. The paths must also help people get to public parks, transportation, and other community resources.
