Medicaid PNA Modernization Act

This bill would double the amount of personal spending money that people living in care facilities like nursing homes get to keep from their income under Medicaid. Right now, an individual can keep $30 per month and a couple can keep $60 per month; the bill would raise those amounts to $60 and $120, respectively. This personal needs allowance is the portion of a person's income that is set aside for their personal use before the rest goes toward paying for their care.
