DISCLOSE Act of 2026

This bill makes changes to campaign finance rules. It expands the ban on foreign money in U.S. elections to cover online ads, judicial nomination campaigns, and ballot measure campaigns, and it makes it a crime to set up a fake company to hide foreign donations, with penalties of up to five years in prison. The bill also requires organizations like corporations, labor groups, and political groups to quickly report campaign spending over $10,000 to the Federal Election Commission and to reveal their top donors when running political ads. Additionally, the Government Accountability Office would have to study and report on illegal foreign money in federal elections every four years.
