Dignity for Aborted Children Act

This bill requires abortion providers to get written consent from patients about how fetal tissue will be handled after an abortion. Patients can choose to keep the tissue themselves or have it transferred to a burial or cremation service, or they can let the provider handle it. If the provider handles the tissue, it must be buried or cremated within seven days following state laws about disposing of human remains. Providers must keep records of patient choices and submit yearly reports to the Department of Health and Human Services, with penalties for not following these rules.
