Protecting Americans from Unsafe Drugs Act of 2026

This bill gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services the power to order recalls of all drugs, not just controlled substances as the law currently allows. It also expands who within the Food and Drug Administration can be given the authority to issue these recall orders, adding the Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research as someone who can carry out this responsibility alongside the Director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
