End China’s De Minimis Abuse Act

This bill changes rules for small shipments coming into the United States. Currently, imports worth less than $800 per shipment can enter the U.S. without paying tariffs, fees, or taxes. The bill would stop this special treatment for imports that are already subject to certain trade penalties, like antidumping tariffs or national security restrictions. For imports from countries facing trade restrictions, the bill would require more detailed product classification information to be given to U.S. Customs. The bill also creates fines for people who try to bring in imports that violate these new rules.
