Filer Voter Act

This bill would require tax preparers who handle at least 100 individual tax returns in a year to offer voter registration forms to their customers. For people who visit the preparer's office in person, paper copies of the form must be on display, and for customers using online services, a link to the form must be provided. The bill also gives the Department of the Treasury responsibilities for helping certified volunteer tax preparers follow these new rules.
