Disaster Assistance Fairness Act

This bill makes it so that people who live in condominiums, housing co-ops, and manufactured housing communities can get the same kind of disaster help from FEMA that other homeowners already receive. It requires FEMA to create rules for cleaning up debris from these types of communities after a major disaster, and it treats that cleanup as being in the public interest when local officials say the damage is a threat to people's lives, health, safety, or the community's ability to recover. The bill also allows FEMA to help pay for repairs to shared parts of these communities, like common areas, through its program that assists individual households after disasters.
