Native American Education Opportunity Act

This bill lets Native American tribes create education savings accounts and charter schools for their students. If a tribe asks for it, the Education Department and Interior Department must give the tribe money to start these savings account programs. Tribes would give this money to families whose children attended or could attend Bureau of Indian Education schools, or to families not using other tribal education programs or public schools. Families could use the money for private school costs, tutoring, online classes, textbooks, educational software, or test fees. The bill also lets the Bureau of Indian Education approve and fund charter schools at schools it runs or pays for.
