New Pathways Act

This bill updates the rules for the Bureau of Prisons to help people in prison get important identification documents before they are released. For U.S. citizens, the Bureau of Prisons must provide a Social Security card, a document proving citizenship, and a photo ID. For non-citizens, the Bureau must help them get proof of their legal status and, if needed, a work permit.
