Restoration of Employment Choice for Adults with Disabilities Act

This bill makes it easier for certain employers who have special certificates to pay workers with disabilities less than the regular minimum wage. Right now, younger workers with disabilities must go through job training and career services before they can be placed in a job that pays below minimum wage, but this bill removes that requirement. The bill also changes the rules about career counseling for workers earning below minimum wage — instead of making sure workers actually receive counseling and service referrals, employers would only need to show they tried to contact the state agency for those resources, even if the agency never followed through.
