Katrina and Leslie Schaller Act

This bill would extend the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program to include Guam. SSI is a federal program that helps older, blind, and disabled people with limited income and resources meet their basic needs, but Guam has been excluded from this program since it was created in 1972. The bill allows the Social Security Administration to change program requirements as needed to make SSI work in Guam, and it removes existing limits on payments to Guam under SSI and other assistance programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
