Moms Matter Act

This bill creates two grant programs to help with mental health issues and substance use problems that affect mothers during and after pregnancy. The first program gives money to governments, health care providers, and organizations to provide mental health services for mothers and to train health care workers on these issues. The second program gives money to create or expand schools and training programs so that more types of people can join the workforce that supports mothers' mental and behavioral health. Both programs focus especially on groups that have higher rates of problems with maternal health.
