Drug Cartel Terrorist Designation Act

This bill requires the State Department to officially label four specific drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. The four cartels are the Gulf Cartel, the Cartel Del Noreste, the Cartel de Sinaloa, and the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion. When groups get this terrorist label, the Treasury Department can make U.S. banks block money transactions involving those organizations. The bill also requires the State Department to write a report about these four cartels and any other cartels they find, then decide if those other cartels should also get the terrorist label based on certain rules.
