DME Scammer Prevention Act of 2026

This bill creates new rules to help prevent fraud in Medicare billing for certain medical equipment like prosthetics and braces that have already been flagged as risky for misuse. It requires that bills for these items be submitted electronically and within 90 days of when the equipment was provided to the patient. The bill also requires a government watchdog agency to study and report on the technology being used to catch fraudulent claims for these items.
