Stopping Pharma’s Ripoffs and Drug Savings For All Act

This bill changes rules about drug patents to prevent companies from getting multiple patents for the same invention. If a drug company lists more than one patent for the same drug, they must prove in court that each patent covers a different invention. If they cannot prove this, they lose patent protection from all but the first patent when it expires. The bill also tells the Patent and Trademark Office to review how it approves drug patents to avoid giving multiple patents for the same drug unless they truly cover different inventions.
