Aviation-Impacted Communities Act

This bill helps communities affected by airplane noise get funding to reduce that noise. An aviation-impacted community is defined as being within one mile of where commercial or cargo planes fly 3,000 feet or lower above the ground. The bill expands current airport noise reduction funding to include these communities, even if they don't meet existing noise level standards. Communities can form boards to work with airports and the Federal Aviation Administration on noise problems, request assessments, and get grants to soundproof homes, hospitals, schools, and other buildings.
