Florida Freeze Disaster Assistance Act of 2026

This bill provides $3.5 billion in emergency money for the Department of Agriculture to give block grants to certain states whose farmers lost crops, trees, bushes, and vines because of freezing or cold weather. The money can only go to counties in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia that were officially declared disaster areas by the USDA on March 4, 2026, due to freeze-related conditions. The bill also requires that farmers who lost crops that take multiple years to grow, like fruit trees, receive compensation for those losses. The funds must be sent out when a state's agriculture department or similar agency requests them.
