Stop Arming Cartels Act of 2025

This bill would make it illegal to import, sell, make, transfer, or own .50 caliber rifles under existing gun laws and would require these rifles to be registered and licensed. It would also make it a crime to sell or transfer guns and ammunition to foreign people or groups that have been officially identified as major drug traffickers. On top of that, the bill would allow lawsuits against gun makers or sellers who knowingly sell firearms or ammunition to these designated drug trafficking individuals or groups, creating an exception to a current law that generally protects the gun industry from certain lawsuits.
