NO BAN Act

This bill limits the President's power to ban people from entering the United States and prohibits religious discrimination in immigration decisions like issuing visas. If the President wants to temporarily restrict entry, the State Department must first determine it's needed to address specific threats to public safety or other U.S. interests. Any restrictions must be narrowly focused and use the least restrictive approach possible. Before imposing restrictions, officials must consult with Congress and report to Congress within 48 hours, or the restriction automatically ends. People harmed by unlawful restrictions can sue in federal court.
