USA Act

This bill requires a government science agency called NIST to help the United States play a bigger role in creating standards and rules for artificial intelligence and other new technologies. NIST would have to update Congress on ways the government can support businesses working on these standards, set up a website to keep industries and government agencies informed about international standards efforts, and create a five-year program with grants to hold meetings in the U.S. about developing these standards. The bill also says NIST should promote fairness and cooperation in how international standards are created and help government agencies work together on standards for new technologies.
