Aerial Firefighting Enhancement Act of 2025

This bill allows the Department of Defense to sell its extra aircraft and aircraft parts to be used for fighting wildfires from October 1, 2025, to October 1, 2035. The aircraft can now be used to drop both water and fire retardant on wildfires, whereas before they could only drop fire retardant. The bill also removes the previous rule that limited using these purchased aircraft to help fight wildfires in other countries.
