Protect Our Clothes from PFAS Act

This bill changes the rules for how imported clothing is classified as water resistant for tariff purposes. Currently, water resistant garments must pass a specific water test and must get their water resistance from rubber or plastic applied to the fabric. The bill removes the requirement that the water resistance must come from rubber or plastic, so clothing could be classified as water resistant even if it gets that quality from other materials or methods.
