Continuing Appropriations Act, 2027

This bill keeps the federal government funded and running from the start of the new budget year on October 1, 2026, through December 4, 2026, or until full spending bills are passed, whichever comes first. Most programs would continue to receive the same amount of money they got the year before, but some programs get special treatment, including the WIC nutrition program for women and young children, Small Business Administration loans, disaster relief, Indian Health Service, and wildfire fighting. The bill also extends several programs and rules that are set to expire, such as the National Flood Insurance Program, the TANF welfare program, limits on pay raises for certain top government officials, and a freeze on pay increases for members of Congress. It also includes payments to the families of two members of Congress who passed away — Representative David Scott and Senator Lindsey Graham.
