Federal Bureau of Prisons Voting Assistance Act of 2026

This bill would require the Bureau of Prisons to give inmates information about voting — like how to register and how to request an absentee ballot — before federal, state, or local elections. This only applies to inmates from places that already allow them to vote while they are in custody. The Bureau of Prisons would also need to send voting information to a staff member at each federal prison who handles reentry affairs. All of this information must be provided in both English and Spanish.
