PATROL Act

This bill would stop the Department of Justice from suing states that build physical barriers like bridges, dams, or other structures in waterways along the U.S. border for security reasons. Currently, federal approval is required before building these types of structures in navigable waters, and the Justice Department can take legal action against states that build them without permission. Under this bill, the Justice Department would be prohibited from bringing these lawsuits against states for border security structures.
