Emerging Innovative Border Technologies Act

This bill requires U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Homeland Security to create a plan for using new technologies to improve border security. The technologies could include artificial intelligence, machine learning, fiber-optic sensors, radar systems, and imaging equipment. The bill allows Customs and Border Protection to form Innovation Teams that would research and adapt commercial technologies for border use. The agency must give Congress this plan within 180 days and provide yearly reports about the Innovation Teams' work.
