No Leniency for Fentanyl Dealers Act

This bill makes it so that people caught making, selling, or importing fentanyl can face mandatory minimum prison sentences for having much smaller amounts of the drug than current law requires. For example, the amount of fentanyl that triggers a mandatory prison sentence for serious offenders would drop from 400 grams to just 20 grams, and for lower-level offenders it would drop from 40 grams to just 2 grams. Similar reductions apply to substances similar to fentanyl. The bill also tells the U.S. Postal Service to use more chemical screening devices and assign enough workers to catch fentanyl and other illegal substances being shipped into the country through the mail.
