Wildland Firefighter Paycheck Protection Act of 2025

This bill creates a special pay system for federal wildland firefighters who work for the Forest Service and the Department of the Interior. Under this system, firefighters would receive higher pay based on the General Schedule, with lower-grade positions getting a bigger percentage pay boost than higher-grade positions. The bill also gives extra pay to firefighters who respond to large fires that aren't brought under control within 36 hours, and it provides them with paid time off to rest and recover after those responses.
