Physician Led and Rural Access to Quality Care Act

This bill changes rules about doctors owning or having financial interests in hospitals. Current law generally stops doctors from sending their patients to hospitals or other medical facilities where the doctor or their family members have a financial stake. This bill would allow doctors or their family members to have financial interests in rural hospitals that are far enough away from other hospitals, and it would remove a rule that has prevented doctor-owned hospitals from adding more operating rooms, procedure rooms, or beds beyond what they had as of March 2010.
