POWER Act of 2025

This bill allows electric utilities that receive emergency help to restore power after a disaster to also take steps to reduce future risks at the same time, as long as those steps are cost-effective. It also says that electric utilities getting emergency restoration help for a specific facility can still apply for additional hazard reduction funding through FEMA's Public Assistance program for that same facility, if they qualify.
