SAVES Act of 2025

This bill would require the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to create a five-year test program that gives grants to nonprofit organizations so they can provide service dogs to veterans with certain disabilities or conditions, such as visual impairments. The grants would be awarded through a competitive process, and a nonprofit could receive up to $2 million per year. The VA would also have to provide veterinary insurance to veterans who get a service dog through this program.
