Vehicle Safety Research Act of 2025

This bill officially establishes a program called PARTS within the federal agency that oversees highway safety. The program allows car manufacturers to voluntarily share safety-related data with the agency through an independent third party so they can work together on traffic safety research. The agency must create a charter for the program and hire an outside nonprofit or university to help gather and study the data, but any information shared through the program cannot be made public. The agency is also not required to create new regulations to run the program.
