Clean Cloud Act of 2025

This bill sets up rules about pollution from the electricity used by large data centers and cryptomining facilities. Starting in 2027, the Environmental Protection Agency would measure how much greenhouse gas pollution comes from the electricity these facilities use and charge fees if it goes above a set limit, with that limit dropping each year until it reaches zero in 2035. The money collected from these fees would go toward things like clean energy projects, energy storage, and helping lower home electricity bills for regular customers. Electric companies would not be allowed to pass the cost of these fees on to their other customers.
