New Markets for State-Inspected Meat and Poultry Act of 2025

Right now, meat and poultry that is inspected by state programs can only be sold within the state where it was inspected, unless the state joins a special program that allows shipping across state lines. This bill would change that rule so that meat and poultry inspected by state programs could be sold in any state. The state inspection programs are overseen by the Department of Agriculture and must meet certain requirements.
