CONTAINER Act

This bill would require the Department of the Interior and the Forest Service to let states along the U.S.-Canada and U.S.-Mexico borders place temporary, movable structures on nearby federal land to help secure the borders, without needing special permission. These structures could stay in place for up to one year. If U.S. Customs and Border Protection decides that the border area is not yet under control, states can request extensions in 90-day periods, and the government must approve them.
