Stopping Overdoses of Fentanyl Analogues Act

This bill would permanently classify all fentanyl-related substances as schedule I controlled substances, which are drugs considered to have a high potential for abuse and no accepted medical use. Right now, these substances are only temporarily listed under schedule I through an order from the Drug Enforcement Administration that is set to expire on March 31, 2025. By making this classification permanent, these substances would continue to be subject to the legal controls and penalties that apply to schedule I drugs under federal law.
