Protecting Veterans in Crisis Act

This bill says that before the Department of Veterans Affairs can fire anyone who works for the Veterans Crisis Line, it must notify Congress at least 48 hours ahead of time, explain why the person is being fired, say whether that employee is a veteran or military spouse, and describe how the Crisis Line will keep running smoothly. This rule would last until January 20, 2029. The bill also requires the VA to send Congress a report about the Crisis Line's staff, how it operates, and how well it's performing, and it requires a separate government watchdog agency to review the Crisis Line and suggest improvements.
