ASSIST Act of 2025

This bill changes the rules for veterans' benefits so that the Department of Veterans Affairs can help pay for special modifications to cars and vehicles that veterans need for medical reasons. These modifications include things like ramps, lowered floors, lifts for wheelchairs, changes to make it easier to get in and out of the vehicle, and specially adapted seats. The bill also extends a rule that limits pension amounts for certain veterans who are staying in hospitals or care facilities, pushing that rule's deadline to September 30, 2032.
